Fun Fall Day at Boarderland Park

I've come to the realization that fall is in full force here in New England. The sun is setting earlier, the leaves are beginning to fall off the trees, and the evenings have been bitter cold. Fall is my favorite time of year. I'm always inspired by the colors and beauty of nature in the fall.

Last weekend Spencer and I took our silly puppy Fiona to one of her favorite spots Boarderland State Park located in North Easton, MA. It's a bit of a hike for us, but it's always worth the trip. The scenery is so pretty!

Chihuly Exhibit at The De Young Museum

Spencer and I went on a spur of the moment California trip in July of this past year. We stumbled upon an amazing exhibit of Dale Chihuly's glass art at The De Young Museum. I just love his use of bright colors that make his sculptures come alive!

Dreams of an Artist Retreat!

I can hardly wait for this weekend. I'm spending three days at one of my favorite artist retreats snow farm out in Western Massachusetts. For the second time this year I'll be retracing my footsteps from my younger days, when I went to camp here!

Here's what I'll be doing :O)

HAND FELTED ACCESSORIES: • Lesley Hansard
Let your imagination go wild! Play and design with wool and color in this hand-feltmaking workshop. You will be introduced to the ancient technique of felting by creating personal one-of-a-kind pieces out of fine merino wool. Lesley will teach you fundaments in feltmaking and several hat making techniques such as: “around the ball” and “with a resist”. You will learn how to lie out, felt and block unique hats, handbags, scarves or wall hangings and how to decorate them.

A Little Bird Told Me!

I've been wanting to get some wall decals for the house. So I checked out etsy to see if there were any artist who could offer me what I was looking for. I was delighted to find many fabulous designers offering creative wall art. I ended up settling with the cutest birds from Elephannie!

Spencer's Fabulous Idea!

A few months ago, we decided to get rid of the carpet and have the floors refinished. That of course left us with the issue of what to do with the stairs. Should we paint them white, paint a solid color, should we carpet them with something fun from Susan Sargent. Then one day my husband suggested I paint a mural. I had painted murals before. In fact I painted a mural at one of the hospitals in Providence, RI. So I gave it a try. I bought some Susan Sargent paints and went to work. What fun it was :O)
